Anyone taking the 7 train in to Manhattan has seen the Phun Phactory or what was once called the Phun Phactory. Currently known as 5Pointz the building is an ever changing canvas for graffiti artists.

This is a Sunday, Artists are out enforce.

5pointz isn’t the only place to see stunning graffiti. The original Phun Phactory has re-launched in Brooklyn.

Dinner parties just got a little interesting and a bit darker with the help of Folded Pigs Skulls and Cross Bones Dinner ware.

Setting your table with plates and cups adorned with skulls and crosses is a great start, but how about baking with it?Just loved this picture of cupcakes baked in the cups. Oven safe you can bake in them. Can you go wrong with that? Beautiful, Interesting and Useful?

Brooklyn Tattoo Artist Scott Campbell is an amazing artist with ink. Yet it’s his work with money that is jaw dropping.

Hoops from the Sea to the Streets.

Jetsam’s Surfer Hoops ($75) are Hand forged. Simple yes but not boring. These are definitely the kind of earrings that can go with any daytime outfit. Jetsam has more hand forged items with set with sea glass but these are my favorites.

Marlena Genau has a different twist on hoops. Her bio says “I savor the pleasure of pushing metal to its limits.” and she does in the AC Hoop Earrings ($265). They look more like sculpted ribbons than sterling hammered into twists.

I can’t mention anticlastic earrings with out showing Nancy Linkin’s work. Simply named “Spiral Earrings” ($425-595) these spiral earrings are graceful, organic and the reason I think she is the queen of anticlastic metal work.

Modern Hoops started in the streets. With out a doubt DMD Metal brings us amazing hoops that is all street with no boardroom or ballroom. These Train Hoops ($195) are not for every event but they do make an statement. What wonderful art!

Urban Fashion Artist Randi Tannenbaum

At CosaVerde Randi Tannebaum’s work consists of mostly License plates and leather. Cutting, folding, compressing and Welding(?) them into wearable urban art. Or just cool accessories.

She describes her work as urban graffiti. well the actual phrase is ” The pieces are more like urban grafitti – suggesting a private meaning while radiating an unmistakable movement and energy.”

It made my smile. Simply. It’s handmade, bold and has style. Although I think her belt buckles and buttons are her most unique items, each one is different, that is not all she makes.

Over at her etsy shop. She has a selection sterling and beaded jewelry. It is an eclectic collection that seems to incorporate different styles.

After working with the client on 1000 markets to customize the necklace. I have registered it at Fine Art Registry. It officially has a FAR# and is part of the online portfolio. I did run into some technical difficulties. Since it is a gift I tried to hide the price by typing n/a but instead I bypassed their error page and locked the value in at $0. not cool. Technical support was great. They gave me all the contact info to correct it and walked me through how to gift it for next time. Best thing? The tech support told me how much she love the piece. twice. Love random jewelry love.

It was the first piece I have registered at Fine Art Registry. My portfolio looks bare and empty.

oh well it will be filled soon enough. I have join the Art Every Day Challenge.
